Hire me to help refine your idea, plan a season of your podcast, or cut your story down to a manageable size.

I can come up with a podcast or episode idea, book and interview guests, and make a draft of a script you’ll want to read. Or, I can find the best tape you’ve already recorded to take your podcast from sounding good, to sounding great.

I’ve written everything from niche industry blog posts to national news. Let’s make your story stand out.

Field Recording
I’ve recorded all kinds of things, from the Charlotte Symphony to school buses. And I’ve done tape syncs for Gimlet, NPR, Snap Judgment and Radiolab.
-
Writing
I’ve won and been nominated for local news competitions and have had scripts and features on some of the largest radio newsmagazines in the nation.
-
Fact Checking
I’ve checked magazine and news stories for content and style, including a follow-up for a Pulitzer-winning series on hog waste in eastern North carolina
Radio and Podcast Production expertise
I was the assistant producer for WFAE’s Webby-honored music podcast, “Amplifier,” where I also edited and produced music-heavy excerpts to promote the show on air. I’ve also worked on a public affairs daily news show, where I pitched segments, wrote scripts for the host and pre-interviewed and booked guests.
Getting an edit from Rob Rosenthal at a Transom Traveling Workshop. A bit of a dream come true — when I started making radio I got a lot of help from Rob’s posts on Transom.org.
Not just radio
I started reporting, believe it or not, at a newspaper. For years in college I was a fact-checker, and later an editor at The Daily Tar Heel, UNC’s independent student newspaper. I’ve also had longer stories published in the Indy Week.
